Sandong_SBU International Friendship & Cultural Camp 2011

On 24/12/11 , 20 year 6 students accompanied by 4 teachers attended a cultural exchange camp held by our counterpart in Korea. It was held for 5 days 4 nights.

We were warmly welcomed by the teachers and students of Sangdong Elementary School at Incheon Airport. Then we proceeded to a youth hostel in Bucheon where we stayed throughout the camp. The participants were paired as buddies .

The camp was aimed to expose the pupils to different culture , understand and respect the differences. The participants learnt a lot from each other. Our pupils had the opportunities to lead the life of a Korean , eating kimchi , wearing hanbok ( Korean traditional costume )visiting places of interest in Korea and more.

Team building activities held taught the participants the importance of cooperation and leadership skills.

Cultural Performance and Cultural Sharing Classes benefit both parties , learning through real experience which they may not learn from books.

Through this camp, our pupils became the young ambassadors of Malaysia , promoting our culture to the Koreans.

It is hoped that this program will continue with collaboration with students from more countries.
